PSA

Well first off, I had to get the rough draft and final draft out of the way for academic purposes. Soon after I completed these bothersome tasks, I was then able to begin work on this PSA of mine. All I really did was make some slides, animate them, then put pictures and music and match them up with down or up beats.
Nothing too fancy.

PSA Help.

I thought the guide had some good information, I did find it useful. Well, I found it much more useful than I had anticipated. I found the section about speaking to the audience as if they were directly in front of you especially helpful, as well as the stick to one point only.

PSA outline/type

For my PSA, I would like to use animation and I would like to make certain points on which pieces of art have changed the course of history and a short description of how it was done. Then ask what life would be like without them, maybe give a guess on how the world would be different without them. Then go on to address our current situation, where we are beginning to lose art and how it may affect our future. Also, I need to make sure to point out that we'd be better off in the future if we are to encourage the arts as well as education.

Preliminary Identification of Presentation Capstone elements

I. My presentation may or may not have a prop and if it is going to have one it'll most likely be some type of musical instrument.

II. I honestly think an easel would look pretty cool presenting my ideas on... businessman like.

III. A 3-D prototype would be fun to make if I had anything to model it after, I'll probably come up with a draft of some type of learning curriculum more of a rough draft to kind of give an idea of where I'll be heading with this. If a piano piece is made I could have the sheet music.

IV. I feel that anything could be appropriate as long as it's a formal casual type dress, nothing too specific or professional. I may wear a suit though, just for kicks. Maybe not?

V. Some key points would be the age targeted, and the emphasis on how art and education are one in the same, and that art is just as important as any other "core" class.

VI. I hadn't planned on presenting a brochure but I can see the benefits of it, and now I'll just take it into consideration, nothing set in stone just yet.

VII. Possibly a website? I think a presentation, including a musical piece may be what I'm getting at, still at the drawing board though. An animation may also be something I might invest my time in, a short film containing all types of arts and how it can educate.

PSA

Here are some PSA's that I enjoyed relating art and education. I enjoyed the straight forward approach, the videos just tell you straight up: Here is the future without art. I also found the video with the boy pretty funny, so I do enjoy some humor in all of this. In a PSA of my own, it there ever where one, i would like something similar to the videos linked below, something straight forward and a darker humor revealing an alternate future showing how awful it'd be without the arts...something along those lines.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent

1. My goals are aimed to enhance the learning experience for a younger generation through the sounds of music. Overall, I’d like to reshape the education system in favor of learning.
2. Well you should obviously care considering the fact that the younger generation will be taking over after us, why not educate them to be better? I for one am tired of dealing with incredibly stupid people. Though I’m not the smartest kid around, I would enjoy leaving the world to someone who can handle it.
3. Educating the youth will help my career by bringing positive publicity to me since I would like to become a music producer.
4. My project will impact the education system, which eventually goes up the ladder to all other aspects of society. When we plant seeds and nurture them, we will have us a beautiful tree.
5. By giving children the education they absolutely need, we will be given better more efficient people, which will stimulate the economy, as well as the environment as a whole.

    

look and feel issues of PSA

A. I feel that a PSA could use humor and still be serious which is something I would like to aim at.
B. Some brighter colors as the layout, then show immediately afterwards the most dull of colors in order to emphasize what art can make you see and feel.
C. Hopefully it'll make people realize how much art is really a part of their lives, and how you can never go a day without having some type art influence you.
D. Find a common ground with everyone... I'm sure people listen to music driving to school, or in school. You pick and choose different outfits everyday mix and matching colors etc.
E. I would like to find program where you can use art to make learning easier like humming a tune to memorize something.
